Training Sessions

Two-hour interactive virtual sessions to build skills for a culture of right relation and social consciousness. Topics include:

Mentoring Methods for Socially Conscious People:

Mentoring is part of the typical workplace experience, yet we usually jump into this role without any training. While most of us have good intentions, we can often let mentees down, especially if they are from marginalized groups. Bias can further strain our relationships with mentees, leading to their disillusionment, burnout, and eventually attrition. This workshop empowers leaders and academics at any career level who are committed to being an excellent mentor to marginalized people.

Self-Reflection & Emotional Labor:

This workshop focuses on how to look internally in order to create sustainable, positive change within the workplace. Participants will learn how to gain insight on the beliefs they carry, as well as how to leverage emotional labor to positively contribute to their workplace culture.

Power Dynamics & Empathic Communication:

The power structures present in organizational and academic workspaces often prevent us from engaging in right relation with one another. This workshop focuses on recognizing and leveling the power differential between colleagues in an hierarchical workplace. Participants will learn the importance of empathy and how to practice it in a way that builds community through intentional communication.

Anti-Blackness & White Supremacy Culture:

The murder of George Floyd sparked protests that reached worldwide action in the summer of 2020. However, the initial vigor of this support has since dwindled significantly - which highlights the need to tackle anti-Blackness at its root. This workshop unveils how anti-Blackness and white supremacy culture shows up within our workspaces and what to do about it.

Collective Principles & Community Building:

Having a supportive community creates a culture where marginalized people can be their whole selves. This workshop focuses on applying values established by the Zapatistas to dismantle individualism in our workspaces. Participants will learn how to establish and grow a community of practice while being in right relation with one another.
